VeriSens vision: new Profinet gateway and support software

The new VeriSens Profinet gateway from Baumer provides additional benefits through efficient VeriSens interfacing on Profinet with visualisation and FTP communication in parallel with real-time Ethernet.

The VeriSens Profinet gateway enables up to four VeriSens units to be deployed over a Profinet network. The integrated switch simplifies architecture of a typical linear network topology, and image processing tasks are easily established in parallel with Profinet communication.

The VeriSens Ethernet port remains available for visualization via a configurable web interface with image saving on an FTP server.

The VeriSens Profinet gateway is supported by the VeriSens Application Suite software; also available is the product-specific Profinet GSD file for integration.

VeriSens Application Suite update 2.4 provides an enhanced user interface for more convenient touch operation. Enlarged buttons and short info texts on the related feature checks support the user who often is confronted with small-sized operating panels. Now, the OEM can even configure the VeriSens web interface to match the customer’s corporate identity specifications such as corporate colours and logos.

The new pattern comparison is intuitive to operate and opens up new application potential in packaging control. Enhanced backup and restore functionalities enable the FTP server to be used not only for defect images but also for back-up.

A software update will upgrade all VeriSens models of the XF, XC ID and CS series which are already used in the field with the new feature package.
