Schmersal, which was among the first manufactures to introduce safety components that connect directly to the AS-i Safety at Work system, has continued its development of components with integrated modules by introducing the TR235-AS safety limit switch.
The compact design of the TR235-AS enables it to be used for a variety of applications, including small guard doors and where space is restricted. Its metal enclosure makes it suitable for the harshest industrial environments and features include an adjustable M12 connector, a pre-wired cable that can be rotated by 240 degrees and a range of actuating element, including plungers and angle-roller levers.
The TR235-AS joins other safety components in the Schmersal integrated AS-i range, which include the AZ16-AS safety switch with separate actuator; the AZM161-AS solenoid interlock; the BNS16-AS and BNS33-AS safety sensors; and a range of emergency stop pushbuttons. All other safety products in the Schmersal range can be connected to the AS-i system using one of two input modules - one for control cabinet mounting and one for field applications.
The AS-i SaW system, which supplies power and transmits safety-related and conventional signals over the same network cable, is increasingly used for connecting safety components to machinery. It offers many advantages over other safety buses including reduced installation time and wiring costs.
