New fanless PC ensures legacy serial support

Amplicon has extended its legacy serial support with the new Impact-R 1100F series fanless system powered by the Intel ATOM D2550 processor.

The unit features a high-performance 2.5in MLC solid state drive delivering a truly silent system. With options for multiple serial communication ports, the Impact-R 1100F can offer a total of seven DB9 with a mixture of RS232/422 and RS485, allowing for true flexibility as well as legacy support.

The new Amplicon 1U rackmount PC features dual Gigabit Ethernet, VGA and HDMI at 1920 x 1200, and six USB 2.0 ports. There is additional support for cellular connectivity.

A number of operating systems is supported, including Windows XP, Windows 7 and Linux kernel 2.6.x.
