Tailor-made micro drives introduced

The ac drives manufacturer Vacon has introduced the new Vacon 10, which is claimed to be one of the smallest drive families in the market today. It offers features such as integrated EMC filters, intelligent navigation and a versatile application interface, and is tailored to meet customer needs. The first micro drive is designed especially for OEM customers.

"The Vacon 10 family is the first member of our new product range. It offers great flexibility in meeting customer control requirements, and excellent opportunities to find new business in the very competitive and rapidly growing micro drives market. The Vacon 10 ideally supports our strategy: a wide product range, outstanding drives know-how, customer orientation, the latest technology and mass customisation," says Mr Heikki Hiltunen, Executive Vice President of Vacon.

The Vacon 10 family ranges from 0.25 kW to 5.5 kW. Reliable and of high quality, the Vacon 10 ensures fault-free running time and uninterrupted production process. Typical applications include pumps and fans, material handling, conveyors, automatic doors and gates.

The functionality of the Vacon 10 is incorporated into the flexible control card, called the Application Interface (API). A set of API boards is offered as standard, but the API construction gives OEM customers a free hand to create applications or to specify API cards for their specific needs.

Vacon 10 is an environment-friendly product which saves energy and, thus, decreases harmful emissions in energy production. All materials and the package have been chosen with recycling in mind, and the product is also RoHS compliant (Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive).
