Delcam demonstrated a major upgrade of its hybrid solid and surface
modelling package, PowerShape, at DES '98. All commands for both surface
and solid modelling are available from a single toolbar, so the system is
easy to learn and use.
The software combines intuitive solid modelling operations that allow
simple primitives to be created in just a few mouse clicks, while the
surface modelling techniques allow complex shapes to be created and
styled interactively. An 'intelligent' cursor simplifies geometry
construction by providing construction lines, intersection points,
dimensions and other useful information at the cursor position. Features
can be stretched dynamically to the desired size or shape, dragged and
dropped into new positions, or copied between different models. Any
number of part files can be opened at once and any number of windows can
be opened on each part.
