Inmoco has announced availability of the new Elmo Motion Control ExtrIQ servo product family for specialised industrial and military applications operating in extreme environmental conditions. The product family consists of intelligent digital servo drives and powerful analog amplifiers, which are MIL standards-compliant and highly durable. ExtrIQ offers a compact solution with optimal performance across a wide temperature range (-40°C to +70°C), as well as operation in high humidity and at extreme altitudes. The products are also tested against intense vibration of over 15G and offer extensive resistance to mechanical shocks.
ExtrIQ's versatility and resilience provides support for a broad range of demanding applications requiring tough and reliable motion control solutions, including: military ground mobile, naval, nautical, aviation, aerospace, missile weaponry, specialised laboratory automation, oil refining, unmanned vehicles and satellite communications.
The ExtrIQ drives offer high power density between 10W to 9KW, in the operating voltage range 10V–200V, and have a current carrying capacity of up to 200 Amps continuous and 400 Amps peak. The compactness of the products ensures a cost effective solution for the OEM and user, delivering significant savings in space, cabling and labour.
A standards-compliant motion control solution, ExtrIQ has been tested using methods and procedures specified in a variety of Extended Environmental Conditions (EEC) directives. The standards with which ExtrIQ complies include: MIL-STD-810- Environmental Engineering Considerations and Laboratory Tests; MIL-STD-1275- Characteristics of 28 Volt DC Electrical Systems in Military Vehicles; MIL-STD-704- Aircraft, Electric Power Characteristics; MIL-STD-461- Requirements for the Control of Electromagnetic Interference Characteristics of Subsystems and Equipment; MIL-HDBK-217- Reliability Prediction of Electronic Equipment; and ISO-9001: 2000.
The ExtrIQ servo drives are based on Elmo's SimplIQ motion control technology, which provides a wide range of feedback options, programming capabilities, communications protocols, and superior motion control technology with a fully digital motion controller, which features current, velocity and position loops.
