AAR Powerdrives becomes latest ABB Authorised Value Provider

AAR Powerdrives, based in Kingswinford in the West Midlands, will operate in the surrounding area and south to Gloucestershire. The company has worked with ABB since 2008, supplying the complete range of energy efficient safe area and hazardous area motors.

“Being part of the ABB authorised value provider network gives our customers the assurance that they are dealing with a supplier who has the full backing and support of the well-respected ABB brand,” says David Tarr, general manager of AAR Powerdrives. 

As well as supplying and servicing ABB motors, AAR Powerdrives has its own design engineers.
“Our in-house design expertise enables us to provide solutions to many technical queries straight away,” says Tarr.

“We regularly manage to identify what the customer is looking for, often from limited information, so that a solution can be found in a matter of hours rather than days, so important in today’s manufacturing environment. Our workshops are fully equipped to carry out modifications ranging from a simple paint finish preference to a complete winding conversion, all with very short lead times.”

AAR Powerdrives has particular expertise in systems destined for renewable energy projects, making use of ABB’s extensive range of induction generators.
