Tiny brake units weigh from as little as 30g

Warner Electric's custom X-Small brakes are believed to be the smallest on the market, offering up to 50Ncm of static torque in a range of six sizes, 22mm to 33.5mm diameter.

This range of electrically released, spring-set holding brakes offer the same performance capabilities of similarly sizes permanent magnet units.

The X-Small brakes are designed primarily for engaged/disengaged holding applications – such as seat adjustment on an aeroplane – though they can provide a low cycle rate stopping action in emergency situations.

As they are electrically released they will remain reliably engaged in the event of a power failure, which makes them suitable for applications where the integrity of the holding force is imperative.

Weights range from just 30g (22mm diameter version) to 100g (33.5mm diameter version).
