Encoders feature integral signal processing electronics

The MicroE Optira series of encoders from Intelligent Motion Control offers up to 5nm resolution with all interpolation, automatic gain control (AGC), and signal processing performed in the sensor head.

The encoders offer three mounting options and industry standard incremental outputs (analogue and digital). Standard flat flexible cable connectors provide the durability and flexibility needed by designers of miniature precision motion control systems. Compatibility with MicroE’s wide range of linear and rotary gratings and scales enables a miniature installation footprint.

The Optira is unusual in its size class to offer 5 nm resolution with all interpolation, AGC, and signal processing performed in the sensor head. Optira is a low power consumption device, and is available as a 3.3Vdc version for use in battery-powered precision instruments.
