Fully submersible rugged data logger makes debut at Railtex 2015

ByteSnap Design has unveiled a high-reliability, low-power remote monitoring system  for railway applications at the recent Railtex 2015 event.

ByteSnap custom designs low-power wireless monitoring equipment that can be installed in remote locations to transmit information in real time over long distances.

At Railtex, the ByteSnap team showed a remote monitoring station featuring a weather station, PIR and several terminals for additional customisation options, such as inclinometers, vibration sensors and energy metering.

The demonstration consists of two units; a remote monitoring station and a rugged waterproof data logger. The solar-powered station transmits weather data via a 10km line of sight low-power radio link.

The submersible rugged data logger is powered by a 12V supply, runs on Windows CE and communicates with a display showing information in real time being received from the remote monitoring station.
