Most computer networks communicate on the basis of Ethernet technology. However, data in systems and machinery is transferred using many different field bus protocols. Communication between these systems and particularly with the computer networks is therefore complicated and can only be achieved using special software and hardware. The use of an Ethernet-based communication system in systems or machinery (instead of the field bus systems that have been used to date) will help to solve this problem.
Murrelektronik already provides a wide range of field bus systems that offer solu-tions at IP67 for machinery and system installations. Bus nodes for the popular Ethernet/IP and Profinet I/O protocols in the form of the modular, award winning Cube67, MVK and Impact67 are now extending this impressive range. The gateway to system management networks is therefore opening.
Ethernet does not just provide innovative technology but real added value as far as decentralization is concerned, in the form of “Total Diagnosis”. It is therefore possi-ble to monitor systems and localize problems from anywhere in the world, right down to individual ports. Faults such as open circuit, short circuit / overload, loss of supply etc are relayed back and can even suggest replacement part numbers to the maintenance staff. You can also retrieve data or carry out pre-commissioning I/O checks using any Web browser via a Web server that is integrated in the bus node.
Cube67 has a an array of configurable and modular digital and analogue I/O as well modules for valve clusters, logic, temperature, counters and/or safe outputs. This does not just reduce the connecting time but also the number of components. In conjunction with the compact design and the high protection rating that is guaran-teed by full encapsulation, these arguments all speak in favour of a solution de-signed to meet your needs.
Murrelektronik also has a modular solution at the ready for the interface between the cabinet and the field in the form of the Modlink MPV control panel coupling. Modlink MPV is a frame system with single and double versions that is fits the stan-dard size 16 and 24 control panel cut-outs. Depending on requirements, the frames can be equipped with different connector inserts and adapters that are coded for RJ45 and M12D. The stringent IP65 protection class makes it possible to have long-lasting connections between the cabinet and field components. The number of potential faults and the cost can be further reduced by using prefabricated and tested standard cables.
A comprehensive range of connecting cables completes the product range: As well as M12 cables with D-coding, an entire range of self-locking connectors is avail-able, including RJ45 (IP20 and IP67), M12, D-coded and adapters from M12 to RJ45.
