If your hydraulic installation suffers from cavitation, pressure peaks or
water hammer, then you need a pressure sensor that can cope with these
shocks and continue to provide accurate and repeatable readings. New from
Danfoss is a range of heavy duty pressure sensors, the MBS, which
features a piezo-resistive silicon transducer that can withstand up to 20
times its maximum rated pressure, plus a nozzle design that stops any
cavitation effects from reaching the diaphragm. Four variants are
offered: two OEM types providing ratiometric and 4-20mA outputs
respectively; plus cartridge and block designs with additional output
options. Full scale accuracy ranges from 1% to 0.5%, according to model.
