Safety laser scanner offers two autonomous protective functions

The RSL 400 can be used to monitor corners or edges for front and side guarding of machines and can, depending on the application, avoid the need for a second laser scanner.

The device offers two independently adjustable configurations for safety monitoring, while two OSSD pairs allow two tasks to be performed simultaneously - monitoring two switch-off circuits or independent areas, for example. Up to nine configurable I/Os are available for connection to additional safety sensors.

An Ethernet TCP/IP interface enables easy connection to the control system and the RSL 400 is also configurable via Bluetooth at distances of up to 10m. The unit includes an easily readable text display for start-up support, plus an electronic 'spirit level' that enables precise alignment.

Initial configuration is accomplished with five mouse clicks using Leuze's Sensor Studio software, and a useful simulation mode enables the system to be tested before going live.
