Delmia version 5, release 15 (V5R15) breaks down the barriers between design engineering and manufacturing disciplines, with the introduction of a common change management mechanism. Designers using this feature are able to alert their manufacturing colleagues to design changes that will influence the manufacturing process. The software includes impact analysis tools that allow manufacturing process planners to determine which parts have been modified and highlight the process plans that are impacted. V5R15 also enables engineers to develop and validate their robotic manufacturing processes, providing realistic robotic simulation tools to 'connect' with robot controllers and produce the most accurate robotic paths, trajectories, speeds, and cycle time. The simulation-based reports are subsequently used to evaluate product flow and resource utilisation for the entire manufacturing line.
