‘Slide and Roll’: drylin W hybrid bearings from igus

igus' new drylin W hybrid linear system features tribopolymer plain and roller bearings to deliver a self-lubricating, maintenance free system.

Requiring just a guide rail for support, typical sliding applications include those found on machine guard doors, camera systems, control panels, theatre lifts, stages and lighting rigs.

The drylin W hybrid carriage is available in a range of sizes, including a compact version measuring only 90 millimetres long. The space-saving technology, requiring only one guide rail, is a simple to use alternative to traditional linear slides and offers low noise operation.

In addition, the overall structure remains inconspicuous, since it does not require a second guide as support. As in the case of the larger version, the roller guide is secured on the rail, eliminating the risk of carriages leaving the rail.

Like all tribopolymer bearing products from igus, the drylin W hybrid carriage does not require lubrication. This makes it suitable for applications in the food and packaging industry, as there is no grease or oil contamination.

It can also be used in harsh environments, such as in machine tools, as no dirt or dust particles can accumulate on the bearings, which might otherwise severely shorten operational life.
