Dow Corning introduces Silastic® LC-70-2004 Liquid Silicone Rubber for high-speed manufacturing of precision parts

Dow Corning has introduced Silastic® LC-70-2004, a 70 shore hardness liquid silicone rubber (LSR) designed to provide high clarity, superior mechanical properties and short cycle time for high-speed manufacturers. It is particularly well-suited for precision-production of complex parts such as high-performance mobile phone keypads, butterfly valves for food dispensers, bakeware, spatulas and silicone mats. Silastic LC-70-2004 LSR features shorter cycle times and improved manufacturing throughput compared to high consistency rubber to help high-volume manufacturers achieve efficiencies over other materials. Applied through an automated injection process, Silastic LC-70-2004 LSR offers smooth release from mold to help customers produce complex parts design with great consistency. Silastic LC-70-2004 LSR also features high transparency, low compression set, high tear strength, and is formulated to meet FDA21 CFR 177.2600 and BfR, XV food contact standards.
