HBM release new data acquisition system and ready-to-use strain gauges

New from HBM is the GEN7i transient recorder and data acquisition system, plus a range of strain gauges ready-made to the required cable length.

The HBM GEN7i supports a maximum of 224 channels and offers a streaming rate of 350MB/s. It combines a fully featured Windows 7 PC, with a large, high-resolution touch screen and a robust seven-slot acquisition unit.

At a single touch, the GEN7i can adapt into a dedicated instrument for analysis and sophisticated reporting, using the latest full Perception software options, which are pre-installed on the system.

Depending on the selected operating mode of the GEN7i – continuous or transient – measurement data can also be initially buffered in high speed RAM on the input card, to offer transient recording without any throughput limitations, or transferred directly to the internal drive.  It can also be stored on to the optional removable disc or transferred to an external PC or to a Network Attached Storage system.

Also new from HBM is a range of RoHS compliant wired strain gauges that are supplied ready-made to the required cable length.  Ease of installation has been further enhanced through the use of more flexible material in the connecting lines on stranded wires and TPE sheath, making it easier for customers to position during installation.  This new material has the added benefit of increasing the strain gauges' operating temperature range to 150°C.
