Exposed linear encoder range is extended

Heidenhain has extended its range of exposed linear encoders with the launch of the low-cost LIC 2100.

The LIC 2100 offers an absolute resolution of 0.1/0.05 micron and an accuracy grade of +/- 15 microns over lengths of 3,020mm as standard (6,020mm optional). It features a single track steel scale tape bearing for absolute graduation and generous mounting tolerances; 0.75mm/+- 0.5mm for the scanning gap, +/- 1 degree for roll/pitch and +/1mm for Y axis.

A variety of serial interfaces are available including EnDat, Fanuc, Mitsubishi and Panasonic.
