Eaton introduces efficient, reliable direct-drive piston motor

Eaton has introduced Hydre-MAC, an efficient, low-speed, high torque (LSHT) direct drive, radial piston motor for variable speed applications.

The Hydre-MAC motor was created using a MacTaggart Scott heavy-duty motor design to provide efficient, reliable and serviceable power at a low cost of ownership.

The motor features two inlet and outlet ports reducing pressure drops at high power. It generates less heat overall, and through a symmetrical 18 piston/roller assembly design, eliminates piston side-loading and reduces wear and tear.

The unit is a direct drop-in replacement in most cases, thus avoiding the need to replace machine shaft and torque arm.

Hydre-MAC’s repairable wear surfaces include shaft seals, wear rings, piston seals and bearing pads, which can be replaced on-site.
