A range of mechanical speed variators is now available from Trandsev. Manufactured in Italy by Chiaravalli S.p.A, the CHV series offer a step-less and smooth running speed reduction of up to 5:1 with the ratio controlled by a simple hand-wheel. They are particularly well-matched for pumping and mixing applications where the simple and durable design provides a heavy-duty aluminium housing fully enclosing and protecting the robust planetary reduction mechanism. CHV mechanical speed variators provide a straightforward means of manual speed adjustment for all processing industries and are suitable for use in harsh environments such as chemical plant, outdoor processes, temperature extremes and high humidity.
Three frame sizes (02, 05 and 10) are offered, covering output power from 0.18 to 0.75 kW and output torque up to 6 Nm. Nominal frame diameters are 140 mm, 160 mm and 200 mm with a B5 input and output flange mounting used throughout. All units can be horizontally or vertically mounted with a choice of terminal box position.
The range can be supplied complete with Eff2, 4-pole AC motors. To ensure long life and low maintenance all models include oil filled lubrication. Accessories available include a foot mounting kit and a gravitational speed indicator may be specified for horizontally mounted versions.
The range can be mixed with Transdev’s CHT and CHB series gearboxes and gearmotors, also from Chiaravalli. Offering IEC power ratings from 90 W to 7.5 kW and with a wide selection of mounting options, this competitively priced range is dimensionally interchangeable with other market-leading Italian brands.
