Spelsberg polycarbonate TK enclosures are being used to house novel laptop charging systems and connectivity hubs for classrooms around the world. Designed and built by in the UK by Hillbrow and distributed by Bretford (www.bretfordonline.co.uk), the hubs (one of which is shown here in the centre of the table) provide robust protection for the wiring, plug sockets and overload protection circuits, while remaining pleasing to the eye.
Spelsberg pre-drill and machine the enclosures ready for assembly, cutting Hillbrow’s production costs significantly. Several machining operations are carried out to accommodate the 16 top-mounted IEC sockets, switches and warning lights. During development the aperture positions were tested in order to populate the lid fully while making sure that there was enough material to support the socket blocks when a number of attempts were made to force plugs in the wrong way.
Spelsberg TK enclosures offer IP66 ingress protection, and the polycarbonate version is available UL and EX approved. All are available from stock in a wide range of sizes. Machining and assembly services are all located onsite at the company’s Telford HQ, where customers can gain access to technical support and next day delivery on all standard items.
