Infrared temperature measurement with the Calex PyroSight E

The new PyroSight E series of infrared pyrometers from Calex Electronics is available with built-in through-the-lens laser sighting, and temperature ranges from -25°C to 2,000°C.

All models have a two-wire 4-20mA output and an adjustable emissivity setting via two rotary switches.

A choice of measurement wavelengths is available for a wide range of applications:
0.9µm models allow reflective metals such as iron and steel to be measured more accurately than with any other measurement wavelength.

This wavelength is ideal for applications including steel manufacturing, welding defect detection and furnace temperature monitoring.

The 1.6µm models allow metals to be measured accurately at temperatures as low as 300°C, and the 5.1µm models are suitable for measuring glass surface temperatures while minimising the effect of reflections.

The 8 to 14µm models are suitable for general-purpose measurements of the temperature of paper, plastics, rubber, food, tarmac, and organic materials; for example, in leaf temperature monitoring in greenhouses.
