The smart choice for bellows couplings

Mayr’s smartflex bellows couplings cover a torque range of 16 to 700Nm and offer users reliable, flexible, backlash-free and economical shaft connection.

smartflex couplings differ from their competitors as they have no welded or bonded joints. Thermally stressed areas created by welding or soldering are often at the root cause of coupling failure and where adhesives are used in assembly operating environments can cause degradation of the bonded joint.

The modular construction of the smartflex coupling allows differing shaft diameters to be accommodated simply by exchanging the reducing bush. With its single screw clamp design and push fit bushings, a smartflex coupling can be removed and reconfigured to suit news shafts in a matter of minutes with no need for machining or the replacement of the bellows or collars.

The specially configured stainless steel bellows offer high misalignment capability whilst minimising restoring forces on the shafts and the coupling’s low mass moment of inertia means safe torque transmission even at high rotational speeds.

With bore sizes ranging from 8 to 85mm and torque transmission up to 700Nm, Mayr’s smartflex couplings are the perfect choice for servo drives, machine tools, robotic systems or any other high integrity automation applications.

Through a strategic global stocking initiative, Mayr are now able to supply all common sizes of smartflex and all standard bores on an ‘order today, deliver tomorrow’ basis.
