New Air End Technology Boosts Compressor Efficiency

Two new models, updating the mid-range of CompAir's 'L' series rotary screw compressors, feature new air end technology that is claimed to offer significant efficiency enhancements. The compression element used in the new L55 and L75 models is the one currently being used in the company's latest energy efficient portable range. Modular in design, it includes both oil filter and thermostatic valve, which are normally located outside the element. This reduces piping and connections within the compressor, improving reliability and minimising the risk of oil leaks. Other features include a 15% increase in volume flow rate, low noise levels and the addition of a cooling air filter that helps improve the efficiency of the filters and coolers and keeps the compressor interior clean. The L55 and L75 also have a smaller footprint so that they can be transported through a standard width fire door. Most components are grouped in the vicinity of the compression element to ease maintenance operations, and access for servicing is provided by a single, large hinged door.
