maxon pushes up the power of its brushless dc motors

maxon motor is now offering a 300W EC-series four-pole dc motor, which can supply a constant torque of 670mNm at 3,580rpm, and a speed-torque gradient of 0.5rpm/mNm - four times that of a comparable two-pole unit. The new motor is 155mm long, with a 45mm square cross section.
It is fully compatible with maxon’s four-quadrant DEC 70/10 controller, rotor position being determined by an integral three-channel encoder. For more complex and dynamic positioning tasks, however, the company recommends that the motor is used in conjunction with its DES 70/10 servoamplifier.
