A range of compact worm wheel gearboxes that can be combined with a variety of ac induction, permanent magnet dc or dc brushless motors, is now available from Parvalux. The LS gearbox series features a direct drive between gearbox and motor, so there are no rubber or moulded components that are likely to wear prematurely. As a result, these durable units come with a five-year warranty.
The gear components are designed for minimum noise, and are available either in Delrin (20Nm maximum torque) or bronze (35Nm). The 100mm square, cast aluminium gearboxes offer a range of mounting options and are sealed for life. There is a choice of six ratios, solid or hollow output shafts (up to 25mm diameter) and optional mechanical brakes.
