New from Micromech are self-aligning bearings mounted in high performance aluminium pillow block and housing flanges. These lightweight, corrosion resistant, robust bearings are suitable for a wide range of loads and speeds. They offer a useful alternative to more expensive, cast iron mounted ball bearings that may be considered ‘overkill’ in many applications. The Spyraflow bearings also provide a ± 5° static self-alignment capability.
The pillow block and housing flange line comes with various bearing options, including SAE 840 bronze, Teflon- Bronze and needle roller bearings. They are available in sizes from 6mm to 30mm diameters and because the housings are manufactured from sintered aluminium, they are dimensionally stable.
