Machine Vision Update: Next Generation Embedded System Is 15 Timesfaster

Machine Vision Update: 'Next generation' embedded system is 15 times faster Cognex has introduced its 'next generation' high performance embedded machine vision system. The MVS-8200 series is available for PCI, CompactPCI and VME architectures and features a 200MHz MMX processor for fast and deterministic image processing. Users can run the company's PatMax software for high-accuracy part location and inspection, directly on-board at speeds up to fifteen times faster than previous embedded systems. Cognex's complete library of MMX-accelerated vision software tools can be accessed via a flexible Visual C++ developer's kit and these applications can be ported across other MVS-8000 platforms without having to rewrite code. Image acquisition modules are available for RS-170, large digital, colour, line scan, rapid reset and progressive scan cameras.
