Synchronising Laser Pulses

Available as a separate card or as an option on its PC1500 motion controller, the pulse synchronised output (PSO) card from Aerotech provides on-the-fly synchronisation of a laser’s pulse and power output with the motion of any machine controlled by the company’s Unidex 500, 511 or 600 controllers. The PSO uses high speed digital signal processing technology to analyse the positions of up to four axes of motion at data rates up to 20MHz. It can also vector process 2D or 2.5D contoured machine motion with high accuracy, making it suitable for use in laser cutting machines or ink-jet printers. The card is programmed via Unidex interface displays, in C, C++ or Visual Basic.
