The power range of Parker Electromechanical’s ‘Compax3’ servo drives has been increased to extend their scope of application. The range now covers from 1kVA up to 110kVA, opening up applications opportunities in material forming, presses, printing and paper convertion, and those projects involving torque motors. Key features of these drives include scaleability and versatility. They are also compatible with international fieldbus protocols (Ethernet, PowerLink, DeviceNet, CANopen, Profibus DP and RS232/RS485) allowing their easy integration into most control systems.
Functionality ranges from simple basic analogue ±10V torque/velocity plus step-direction control, up to intelligent drives with PLC functions. Programming is via an industry standard IEC 61131-3 language, which simplifies integration into existing systems and minimises training.
As regards motor compatibility, the Compax3 can be used with a wide range of servo motors (synchronous, asynchronous, linear and torque motors). It supports feedback from resolvers, encoders, single/multi-turn SinCos and incremental encoders with Sine-Cosine signals.
All the new higher power drives operate from 3-phase 400/480VAC, so they are suitable for worldwide duties.
