Inteliair cuts dust and fume extraction costs by 40 percent for UK manufacturers

A specialist printing company, a timber product manufacturer, the largest dedicated online grocery retailer and many other UK based companies are all saving more than 40 percent on their extraction energy costs.

These savings follow the installation of Inteliair's PLC based control system on new and existing dust, particle and fume extraction installations.

Using the ‘on demand’ system, automated dampers and sensors along with fan speed control ensure that energy consumption is reduced substantially. Inteliair's system avoids the problem of having to run fume and dust extraction equipment at full load all of the time, which, in addition to power consumption issues, also impacts on noise and equipment wear and tear.

Problems, such as maintaining minimum velocities in the ductwork, are overcome through intelligent processing via the main Inteliair unit; moreover, users can prove their savings through real time data logging.

The graph opposite shows a typical operating cost per day with the Inteliair system operational (blue) and the operating cost without Inteliair (red).
