Monochrome CMOS line scan camera family for product inspection

A new series of monochrome CMOS line scan cameras from Teledyne DALSA has been introduced for cost-sensitive high-speed imaging applications.

The Linea family of CameraLink CMOS line scan cameras, which is available in the UK from Stemmer Imaging, features a 4K model (4096 x 1 pixel resolution) and a 2K model (2048 x 1 pixel resolution) with a 7 x 7 pixel array and a maximum line rate of 80 kHz.

Linea is a compact, lightweight and robust camera with a choice of C or F-mount lens adapters. With a feature-set normally found in Teledyne DALSA’s high-end line scan cameras, Linea offers exceptional performance at an extremely attractive price point.

The single line sensors are suitable for postal and parcel inspection, materials grading, food and web inspection, transportation safety and pharmaceutical inspection.

Linea’s rich feature set includes full-fledged flat-field correction, multiple regions of interest, smart triggers through programmable GPIO, multiple user configuration sets and calibration coefficients for various lighting conditions.

A 2 x 2 binning capability is also included to deliver enhanced sensitivity and signal to noise as well as optical compatibility with 14 µm pixel cameras. Fully GenICam compliant, Linea is easy to set up and integrate using a GUI, such as Teledyne DALSA’s Sapera camera configuration utility Camexpert, or an ASCII interface using three letter commands.
