Rugged and compact positioning tables are also very flexible

New linear positioning tables from Micromech use a steel 'U' channel body design making a more rigid structure. They also integrate the bearing and ball screw nut, creating a more compact overall footprint. Specifically designed to reduce overall machine cost and allow manufacturers to speed their time to market, the rugged 402XE and 403XE are available in a complete compact package with motor and limit sensors included. For simple customisation, the 402/403XE can be ordered with mounting for other motors to meet customer-specific application requirements.

Due to the utilisation of a steel 'U' channel body design, a more rigid structure is created when compared to traditional positioning tables. The steel 'U' channel design also allows for integration of the bearing and ball screw nut within the structure creating a more compact overall footprint while providing higher load-carrying capacities versus more common bearing/actuator designs.

The tables use a gothic arch configuration with four points of contact for each ball in the bearing set, this design assures smooth motion while achieving high precision capabilities. The 402XE are supplied as standard in a 50mm wide footprint but when used with an optional hardcover the footprint increases slightly to 57mm wide. The 403XE are either 60mm or 80mm wide without or with the hardcover option. The 402XE comes in four lengths 70, 120,170 and 220mm and takes loads up to 90kg, the 403XE has seven lengths from 55 through to 605mm carrying loads up to 160kg. Both tables have repeatability of +/- 5um.

Easily integrated into multi-axis designs and adjustment free the tables are a significant cost saver for today’s demanding manufacturers. This exciting range extends Micromech's product line capabilities to further accommodate application requirements in the medical, hard disk, lab automation, and high-tech markets. They also offer a robust engineering solution for OEMs and machine builders who currently deal with long lead times and poor response times or have dealt with the frustration of designing, purchasing, inventorying, assembling, and testing all the components required to 'build your own' positioning table.
