HBM has introduced two new modules for its digiCLIP modular amplifier system that extends integration into machine controls and provides substantially faster emergency shutdown of machines/plants than previously possible. digiCLIP automatically monitors measurement quantities such as force, pressure, torque, and weight in industrial environments.
Both modules - DF31CAN (with CANopen interface) and DF31DP (with Profibus-DPV1 interface) – feature one fast digital control input and two fast digital control outputs with PLC signal level.
If, for example, overloads or disturbances occur, machine protection is activated through the control outputs within 2 milliseconds. Because the function is implemented locally it does not affect the PLC ensuring that production reliability and cost-efficiency are increased.
Functions such as fast and reliable setting up using TEDS (Transducer Electronics Data Sheet) automatic transducer identification make digiCLIP extremely easy to use.
The user selects the switching inputs and outputs. The free digiCLIP Assistant setup software facilitates use of the modules while user friendly functions such as automatic baud rate recognition and hot swapping (swapping of modules without interrupting system operation) are important features for industry applications.
