Ethernet connection for harsh-environment applications

Amphenol's new RJFast Ethernet connection for harsh environments is believed to be the only system on the market capable of converting a standard RJ-45 cable into a category 6 Ethernet connector compatible with industrial environments (including IP67) in a few seconds, without tedious, long and costly crimping.
The principle is straightforward: just clip the RJ45 cable into the RJ Fast housing. This forms a connector that locks directly onto its female receptacle. This operation is very simple. It does not require tools or crimping. RJFast is part of the RJ Field connectors range and is based on the RJ Stop patent.

The connection obtained has IP67 protection rating, a tensile strength of 70 N, and passes a 1000 h salt spray test. It is rated to UL94V0 fire protection and withstands temperatures from – 40 °C to + 85 °C.
It has many applications in both long production runs and small batches: telecom equipment, video surveillance, robotics, process control, machine-tool control, etc.

RJFast can be used in category 5e class D and category 6 class E cabling for 10BaseT, 100BaseTX and 1000BaseT networks. The range can be supplied with or without shielding. It is available in category 5e with straight, angle, RJ45 cable and PCB-solderable leads, and in category 6 with self-stripping leads.
