Metallic tape can join and seal a variety of metal components

A special tape developed to seal and join metallic products such as aluminium, steel and other metals has been launched by tesa UK. Designated tesa 4664 and new to the UK, the flexible tape is suitable for a wide range of industrial applications including the assembly and sealing of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems as well as for splicing insulating materials.

Constructed from woven PET/cotton fabric and laminated with metallized PE the tape employs a natural rubber adhesive that gives it very high initial tack and excellent adhesion, even on rough surfaces. The tape is exceptionally conformable, moisture resistant and vapour-tight. Additionally, it has a service temperature of up to 95°C and is UL 723 rated for flame and smoke. Supplied without a liner it is easy to handle, tear by hand and quick to apply.

Designed to match metallic surfaces tesa 4664 will be aesthetically appealing for sealing long runs of duct work or foil covered sheathing, especially where it is on show.

Manufactured in a thickness of 260µm the tape is available in 50m x 48mm wide rolls.

Metallized PE cloth tape is part of a range of foil tape products manufactured by tesa.
