Empire Magnetics Inc designs and builds high-quality specialty motor products for use in environments where ordinary commercial grade motors are unable to perform. Available in the UK from LG Motion Ltd, the range includes brushed and brushless motors, stepper motors and AC induction motors with related components such as encoders, resolvers, gearboxes and brakes.
The range has developed through several years’ participation in high-technology manufacturing, military, aerospace, and scientific research applications. The long list of challenging environments where Empire motor products are commonly specified includes vacuum prepared, radiation hardened, waterproof, washdown and submersible, dustproof and abrasive dustproof, hazardous area, extreme high temperature and cryogenic. Many applications require a combination of these environments and Empire and LG Motion together provide a comprehensive technical support service to assist customers from project concept to completion.
Examples of specialty motors include vacuum grade motors to 10-7 Torr, cryogenic motors for use at temperatures to 20 degrees Kelvin and submersible motors for use in deep sea diving vessels. Empire has a “standard” range of motors for all these options but as you would expect, the Company also offer a custom build service.
