An inexpensive servo drive from Panasonic

Compared with stepping motors, asynchronous motors or pneumatics, the MINAS LIQI series servo drive from Panasonic Electric Works UK offers many advantages in terms of reliability, speed, and positioning precision.

As with the MINAS A5 series, the MINAS LIQI series is supported by a parametrization tool (Panaterm) and configuration software (MINAS selection tool).

Features at-a-glance:
-Incremental encoder: 2500 pulses per revolution
-Response frequency: 1kHz bandwidth (velocity response)
-Panaterm V5.0: Free software for configuration and motion simulation via USB port
-Real-time autotuning function during operation
-Damping (1-200Hz) and notch filters (50-5000Hz)
-Rotary switch (RSW): to set the stiffness manually

Panasonic offers a complete PLC/HMI/drive package for a special, one-time price. The starter kit contains a MINAS LIQI servo driver and a motor (400W or 750W), a compact PLC with 16 I/O points, a 3.8in touch terminal, a 24Vdc power supply unit, programming software, and all necessary cables. The package is rounded off with detailed documentation and wiring diagrams.

Also new from Panasonic is a range of high performance modular Programmable Logic Controllers.  The FP7 Series comes with a choice of three CPUs and additional RS232C, RS485 Communication modules. Ethernet communications is also available, thanks to an integral 100BASE-TX/10BASE-T Ethernet port and future expansion cassettes.  I/O expansion of the system can be realised with the following modules:

-Digital I/O in 16, 32 and 64 point density and Relay/PNP/NPN output modules
-Analogue I/O of 4 channel density supporting multiple voltage and current ranges
-Communication Cassettes supporting single or dual channel RS232C and RS485
-Motion Control Positioning units offering 2 and 4 axis control with Linear and Circular interpolation
