Bollhoff reels in another advance in self-pierce riveting

RIVSET self-piercing rivets are now available in a new design of reel cassette introduced to the UK market by Bollhoff Fastenings. MINIRIV provides the user with 50% more rivets in a 220mm diameter spool, extending production time and reducing the frequency of re-loading. No locking pins are required, as the plastic cassette is simply 'snapped' into position within a robust protective stainless steel holder, which in turn fits directly into the feed tube clamp of the rivet setter. Individual rivets are indexed to the setting head, without damage to surface coating and are orientated within the low-profile transfer unit. Once a rivet has been set, the next is immediately in position. A positive tractor-feed system is actioned by foot pedal when mounted on a column, or trigger when suspended on a spring balance, as strong, visually verifiable fastenings are formed in joint thicknesses as little 1.2 mm, up to 6.5 mm in steel or 11 mm in aluminium, all in a single, quiet, emission-free operating cycle of 1.5 seconds.

Each spool is re-usable to minimise waste and 500 rivets can be replenished quickly and easily from a bulk spool held by the customer, or returned to Bollhoff for re-loading.
