Endress+Hauser has been awarded a national contract by the Environment Agency for the supply of submersible pressure sensors, for the third consecutive time. The Environment Agency requires submersible pressure sensors in order to monitor both surface and groundwater. These monitoring stations may be used for flood warning purposes or for the collection of water level data which, in the present climate of water shortages is a critical concern.
Due to the number of devices required, the Environment Agency periodically put into place supply agreements for the provision of these instruments.
The selection process covered the manufacturers’ technical ability, commercial and financial viability and also the manufacturer’s national supply capability. In a purpose-built testing facility in Warrington designed to account for temperature-induced specific gravity changes, the Environment Agency also tested three devices from each of the manufacturers tendering.
As a result, Endress+Hauser was awarded a contract to supply The Environment Agency with the hydrostatic pressure devices Waterpilot and Deltapilot S for specific high functionality applications.
The contract runs for a period of two years with a further extension of two years to be reviewed.
