A rugged new incremental encoder from Heidenhain

Heidenhain has introduced the ROD 1930 Series incremental encoder, featuring 120mm housing, rugged bearings and increased environmental protection, making it suitable for use in heavy-duty automation and materials handling applications.

Boasting high shaft loads of 200N radial and 150N axial achieveable at up to 4,000rpm for 20,000 hours, the ROD 1930’s sturdy aluminium housing is rated to IP66 (sealed against dust and water jets) as well as having high resistance to vibration (25-200Hz) and shock (6ms) plus extreme mechanical loads.

The terminal box is re-mountable in 90 degree increments and there are HTL/HTL outputs for PLC applications. Special rotor couplings are also available.
