The Electromechanical Automation Division of Parker Hannifin, the world's largest manufacturer of motion and control technology, has launched an innovative range of low-cost planetary gearboxes. The new Planetary Gearbox (PTN), Economy Uniflange Series is purpose-designed for a broad range of automation applications ranging from general packaging, handling and processing machinery, to dedicated food and beverage and industrial systems.
The latest PTN Gearboxes share a simple yet rugged design, incorporating proven and efficient gearing, with output shaft bearings that are capable of withstanding high radial and axial loads. Perhaps as importantly, for OEMs and end users alike, the PTN gearboxes are simple to install and use, and are sealed-for-life for zero-maintenance.
PTN gearboxes have been developed to provide high output torque and operating efficiency, typically in the region of 96%, with excellent torsional rigidity and typical backlash of under eight arc minutes, depending on the model selected. In addition, the latest gearboxes have maximum input speeds of up to 4000 rpm and have a low mechanical noise of less than 58dBA, all within a compact, lightweight yet robust housing, with unit weights ranging from 0.9 to 8.0Kg.
The PTN range is available in three frame sizes, with gear ratios of 4:1, 8:1 and 25:1. In each case, gearboxes can be mounted simply and quickly using standard Parker adaptor kits, which have been designed to be compatible with over 100 standard motors manufactured by Parker, as well as devices from all leading third-party suppliers.
PTN gearboxes are manufactured to the highest quality, meeting ISO9001 standards, are available for rapid delivery, and form part of Parker’s comprehensive portfolio of automation, control and motion technology products.
