Scilab, the post process and analysis software package now includes filters specifically for the HBM Catman software. HBM recommends the use of SciLab software for PostProcess analysis of data files acquired by HBM’s MGCplus amplifier system either in standalone mode or in combination with HBM’s catmaneasy or catmanprofessional software. SciLab allows complex PostProcess analyses of data acquired with HBM measurement systems to be implemented in a cost-effective manner.
SciLab (www.scilab.fr) provides the free import filters for professional PostProcess analysis in the 'Contribution' area of its web site, enabling data from the catman software family and PC-Card data files to be imported directly into SciLab. These routines can be optimised by programmers to fit specific applications because the data format and source codes are open source.
SciLab is especially suitable for numerical computations and provides a comprehensive, open environment for scientific applications. The software runs on many different operating systems including Unix and Windows and can read status information and other traceability data in addition to pure measurement data.
