‘UNICASE SL’ - New Aluminium Instrument Enclosures

OKW has introduced the new ‘UNICASE SL’ aluminium instrument cases, which are manufactured by their METcase™ division. These new enclosures are an extension to the existing ‘UNICASE’ range. Typical applications will include test and measurement equipment, machine controllers, peripheral devices, switchboxes, medical systems, and laboratory equipment etc. These low profile instrument cases are manufactured in aluminium, in four standard sizes, with externals dimensions from 130 x 180 x 50 mm to 250 x 300 x 50 mm. The top and base covers are powder painted light grey, RAL 7035, and have an attractive bevelled edge. The covers are secured to the two internal assembly extrusions, which include guide rails for mounting PCBs and chassis plates. The anodised front and rear panels are also secured to the assembly extrusions.

The internal chassis formed by the front panels and assembly extrusions can be used for assembly and testing of the electronics, prior to final assembly of the top and base covers. The front and rear panels are recessed in the covers by 8 mm for protection of the displays, controls and connectors. Four non-slip rubber feet are included in the kit.

OKW can supply the ‘UNICASE SL’ enclosures with additional holes for push-buttons, connectors and displays etc., plus silk-screen printed legends and logos. The cases can also be painted in other colours, and can even be supplied in different sizes. Standard prices start at £29.
