Water-cooled switching adapter for pressure sensors

The new Type 7533A water-cooled switching adapter for use with a wide range of Kistler pressure sensors provides a combination of long sensor life and measurement precision when used in exhaust systems of internal combustion engines. When activated, the adapter exposes the sensor to the hot gases only for as long as pressure measurements are required. This increases the life of the sensor, especially when used in internal combustion engines with high exhaust temperatures and wide pressure fluctuations. When deactivated, the sensor is isolated from the hot gases and is exposed only to ambient temperature and pressure.

The switching adapter, in common with Kistler’s range of water-cooled pressure sensors, is designed to be water cooled to 50ºC and the new Type 2621E closed circuit water-conditioning unit can provide temperature control for up to ten sensors and adapters. Heating and cooling systems maintain the water temperature at 50ºC with automatic system pressure regulation. The specially designed pump circulates the water without pulsation to ensure stable, precise and reliable sensor performance over long time periods. The electronic flow monitoring/alarm signalling system is standard and the unit is powered by normal mains supply between 115 and 230 VAC.
