Renold has recently won orders from some of the biggest names in thriller theme park rides to supply replacement drive chains as part of routine maintenance procedures. In
each case ride engineers have specified Renold because of high performance, extended wear life and reliability. Valhalla and The Grand National at Blackpool Pleasure Beach have both recently been fitted with Renold chain, as has Oblivion at Alton Towers and Tidal Wave at Thorpe Park.
"We're absolutely delighted with these recent prestige orders," said Tony Condon, Renold Chain's UK sales
manager, "It's a fantastic testament to the quality of our product and the great work done by the skilled craftsmen in our factories."
The last time chain from Renold was used on The Grand National it lasted a record 13 seasons, something no other chain has been able to match, and ride engineers were in no doubt that they wanted Renold brand chain fitted again. Similar results were achieved on Valhalla, an aggressive
water coaster ride where chain is exposed to arduous conditions in a corrosive environment, yet chain
manufactured by Renold lasted a full seven seasons. Chain on the Oblivion ride at Alton Towers has performed well since 1997 and the chain on Tidal Wave at Thorpe Park outperformed anything previously fitted by lasting four
seasons.
