Vacon has launched a compact drive - the NXL. The standard unit can be installed on the wall without additional cabinets as the RFI filter and AC choke are integrated within the IP21 or IP54 enclosure. Available up to 30kW @ 400 V, the new drive is suitable for most applications, from simple fan control to versatile machine control including PLC functions. The standard control I/O can be extended with two option boards allowing more relay outputs, sensor inputs or fieldbus interfaces.
"The new Vacon NXL is extremely easy to install and use. The credit-card-sized instruction guide is readily available in each unit," says Mr Heikki Hiltunen, Executive Vice President, Vacon Group. Typically, only four steps are required to set up the unit: activating the Start-up Wizard, selecting the mode, tuning the motor nominal speed and tuning the motor nominal current.
