Energy-efficient inverter motors provide full torque and run cool

The Marathon Blue Max range of induction motors, available from Regal, are designed for use with inverters or variable speed drives and can provide full torque at zero speed.

Incorporating Marathon’s patented Max Guard insulation system, Blue Max motors can operate with any carrier frequency and any cable length. Suitable for use with open- or closed-loop inverters, a shaft-mounted encoder option is available for the latter. These industrial motors feature a wide constant torque and/or constant power speed range and are performance-matched to most makes of inverter.

A robust cast-iron construction makes these motors suitable for arduous duties in, for instance, chemical plants, paper mills, manufacturing, construction and other demanding environments.

Features of the Blue Max range include: Class H insulation, constant torque from zero to base speed and constant power to 150% base speed and choice of terminal box mounting position.

Foot- and face-mounting options are available, while the shaft bearings are double-shielded.

The continuous duty rating is 40°C ambient, while temperature rise on blower-cooled motors is to Class B. The Blue Max specification includes Class F N/C thermostats (one per phase). The power range is 40-100hp.

Blue Max meets NEMA MG1-1998 and similar requirements for energy efficiency and environmental protection. The range is UL recognised, CSA certified and CE Mark.
