DIN-mount power meters featured for renewable energy generation

A new range of DIN-mounted power meters from Carlo Gavazzi meets the special requirements for control, monitoring and utilisation of solar power and other forms of renewable energy. The Carlo Gavazzi WM14-DIN family of power analysers enable comprehensive measurement of renewable energy, including output levels, power quality and hour counting as well as power demands, maximum values and thermal current. In all, up to 16 variables can be measured. The minimum threshold above which energy is measured can also be adjusted according to the size of the installation, enabling accurate management as well as metering of net energy production. Further selectable modes enable rarely required measurements such as reactive power to be hidden, to enhance readability and clarity.

The WM14DINAV53HR2S1AX03 features three external interfaces, including a pulse output suitable for direct connection to a remote display. This capability is often required in public buildings. Two further digital outputs are provided, supporting RS485 serial data communications as well as alarm signals indicating abnormal conditions in any of the measured variables. The RS485 output facilitates connection to a PC, PLC or SCADA, enabling remote monitoring using a software package such as Carlo Gavazzi WattSoft2 or WattSoft3.

The WM14DINAV53DX03 is an alternative version without digital outputs, enabling a lower cost solution where remote monitoring and automatic alarms are not required.

Carlo Gavazzi WM14-DIN meters fit directly into the solar switch gear, and carry CE and UR approval for use in renewable energy projects and commercial solar power products.
