Norbar Torque Tools has released a two-disc Flash multimedia presentation illustrating virtually every aspect of its activities. As well as highlighting its wide portfolio, detailed videos and animations give users an illuminating overview of the benefits on offer through using its products in real-world situations.
Divided into product families for easy navigation, the “Products” disc presents the entire Norbar product range of world-renowned torque wrenches, torque multipliers, testers and transducers. Each product feature is enriched with plenty of practical hints and tips that will be of interest to existing users as well as prospective purchasers. Of particular interest to workshop managers is an in-depth look at the latest Pneutorque tools – an innovative system from Norbar designed to reduce worker exposure to dangerous levels of noise and vibration, while delivering the benefits of true torque-controlled tooling.
Recent legislation has introduced stringent new limits for both noise and vibration exposure which, as the Norbar video reveals, has serious implications for the continued use of impact wrenches in environments like motor vehicle workshops. The effects of the use of impact wrenches compared to Pneutorque were analysed in a recent independent study; the results of which are presented in the video and make a compelling case for change in the way impact wrenches are employed.
The second disc, entitled “Facilities, Industries and Technology” takes a fascinating look at Norbar’s history, how the company operates and who uses Norbar torque tools. Norbar’s Banbury headquarters is one of the most advanced manufacturing facilities of its kind in the world, producing over 100,000 hand-assembled precision torque tools and instruments every year. A video tour shows the entire production process from design to finishing, including a detailed look at the company’s unique in-house calibration certification facilities.
The subject of vibration and noise in the workplace as it relates to the use of impact tools is examined in some detail in disc two, providing further background information on how the evaluation of Norbar’s Pneutorque, shown in disc one, was carried out. The process used to compare the effects of using Pneutorque compared with a typical impact wrench is fully documented, together with the results obtained.
The second disc concludes with a look at three Norbar customers, and how Norbar tools are employed in activities as diverse as heavy earthmoving machinery and aviation. Torque controlled tooling is something that rarely hits the headlines. Yet, as the Norbar presentation shows, accurate and reliable torque control is vital to industry. Its history, expertise and capabilities, gives Norbar Torque Tools a unique perspective on the subject, much of which is shared in this unique two-disc multimedia presentation.
